Emergency Hospital 19: new concept for the future of healthcare

Emergency Hospital 19 is the project for the management and containment of infectious diseases within hospital facilities, developed by Humanitas with the engineering and design support of Techint and the architect Philip Taidelli. A project in which architecture, medicine and engineering contribute to the definition of spaces for management and care: efficient, sustainable and with a human face.

The realization of Emergency Hospital 19, in just eleven weeks next to the current Emergency Department, it was possible thanks to the important contribution of Intesa Sanpaolo at the Humanitas Clinical Institute and of TenarisDalmine e Rocca Foundation to the Humanitas Research Foundation, which is responsible for the scientific development of the project. This is a pilot project and a new model for managing health emergencies with the aim of providing quality, safe and efficient spaces.

Humanitas' response to the need to be ready to simultaneously manage the critical issues of an emergency and the ordinariness of care: a versatile and universally adaptable architecture - achievable in just 3 months - which starting from a modular structure can grow without constraints, be adapted and integrated into the pre-existing context and personalized in its spaces.
